1.Administer Advanced Product Quality Planning 1) Monitor advanced quality planning with awarded suppliers. 2) Review and approve supplier quality plans on new 3) Review supplier manufacturing processes. Assure supplier process control planning. 4) Implement and monitor the part qualification and certification process with selected suppliers. 5) Review supplier tools, fixture, and part design. 6) Assure Part and Process approval and improvement. 7) Administer supplier technical product readiness activities. Provide technical support to customers during start-up activities. 2. Drive quality improvements and quality problem resolution 1) Determine cause of supplier quality problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions. 2) Monitor and Improve supplier quality performance. Conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required. 3. Liaise between Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers 1) Function as a liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, plant Supplier Quality and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support. 2) Participate as member or resource to Product Development Teams meetings. 3) Regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group, including Navistar plants and supplier facilities. 4) Develop waste elimination and capacity improvement proposals for buyers. 5) Maintain required documentation and files. 4. Support Global Sourcing Decisions 1) Conduct Potential Supplier Audit or Process Control Plan Audit based on purchasing request. 2) Have a supporting Quality Business Case report approved according to sourcing eligibility criteria.
1. Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, Machining, Heat Treatment, coating, soldering or assembling. Experience of solving frequent failure mode in the process. 2. Knowledge of automotive product, material and process standard, familiar with process control. 3. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of geometric design and tolerance, gage design and function. 4. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of AIAG 5 manuals, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC. 5. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant process, procedures, facilities, and equipment. 6. Demonstrated knowledge of automotive quality processes and standards. 7. Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions. 8. Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Good communication skills in both English and Chinese. 9. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques. 10. College degree with major in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or Electrical Engineering. 11. Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering, including experience in implementing advanced quality planning process. 12. VDA certified is a plus 13. Ability to travel (approximately 50% of the time), may be in weekend for some urgent cases or oversea support. 14. Able to join or take lead of Conference call during non-working hours (approximately 5 hours per week).
